I am a corporate lawyer in Southern California.
Ok, so, to paraphrase Monty Python, a "corporate lawyer in Southern California" is too boring to be of interest. Actually, I have been around the block a few times. I grew up in New England. I went to Cambridge University in England where I studied philosophy and history as an undergraduate and got my JD from the University of Southern California. My educational minimum seems to have been 3,000 miles from home. In between, I worked in a political campaign, as a waiter (several times), as a paralegal, in a national organization on Capitol Hill in Washington, in community relations, in advertising sales, on a loading dock. As a corporate/securities/finance/M&A lawyer I worked in the LA office of one of the largest New York firms during the roaring 80s, in a large engineering and construction company, in a uniform services company and now for a private manufacturing company where I am the OLO (only legal officer). I have been to 47 of the 50 states (I have missed Alaska, Mississippi and Arkansas). I have lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Virginia, California, Idaho and Ohio. During my life I have visited most countries in Western Europe, some in Eastern Europe, several in Asia, several in Africa, all in North America, Australia, Mexico, Panama, but not South America or Antarctica. I annoy my wife by purporting to know things about which I have no clue, which is why I love commenting on politics (and anything else for that matter).
